I am a self taught artist working mainly in acrylics. I like to paint comical animals, to make people smile. I use bright colours and mostly simple backgrounds in order to let the animals take centre stage.

I used to paint landscapes and 'normal' animals until one day I painted a meerkat for my son's flat, and as a joke I put an ice lolly in its hand with a bite out of it. He loved it, and soon I was being asked by his friends and colleagues to paint comedy animals for them. I found I really enjoyed it, much more than what I had been painting, and it has carried on from there.

I love thinking up the idea, and then planning it and sketching it all out; it can be incredibly difficult sometimes, as what I paint isnt something that you would actually see in real life - giraffes don't really ride on tandems! But that's half the fun.

I have exhibited with the ANB a few times now and also at Art Fair East in Norwich, and my work usually makes people laugh.

I am very happy to take commissions, I have painted family pets disco dancing for instance.
